Where is this Intersection in Ipoh is .......

The question asked: Where is this intersection, taken years back and the image has since been changed. Which Heritage personality lived in one of the shops on this intersection. No prizes for correct answers

The correct answers were provided by Summer Yip (hooray/ clap clap) 6 hours after posting
1) the intersection is Brewster Road and Anderson Road  
2) the Heritage personality was Sybil Medan Kathigasu and husband Dr Abdon Clement Kathigasu. Their address was 141 Brewster Road.

From Ipoh they moved to 74 Main Street Papan from where they supported the resistance

Q:Who was Sybil Kathigasu
A: Sybil Medan Kathigasu GM (née Daly; 3 September 1899-12 June 1948) was a Malayan Eurasian nurse who supported the resistance during the Japanese occupation of Malaya. She was trained as a nurse and midwife and spoke Cantonese fluently.
She is the only Malayan woman to ever be awarded with the George Medal for bravery.

..’Our home was in Ipoh, a growing town on the banks of the Kinta River, centre of the tin-mining district and soon to become capital  of the rich State of Perak .

Round the town were the still peaceful hills, rounded hills bluish white in the sunshine with trees spilling over their upper slopes like green paint spilling out of a tube. It was a beautiful country … still innocent of the trappings of war’ …Sybil Kathigasu, No Dram of Mercy...  before the war reached Ipoh.
