DAP's press conference gives hope that things will return to normalcy 

DAP condemns the treachery (good governance here)  of some PH leaders and MPs that attempted to form a back-door government to replace the existing democratically-elected PH government with a new coalition, Perikatan Nasional, comprising UMNO, PAS, MCA and MIC and certain PPBM leaders with PKR renegades (no mention of Warisan n GOS)  led by Dato Seri Azmin Ali.

Such political manipulation has affected the government’s effort to address economic and livelihood of Malaysian businesses and the ordinary rakyat.

In objecting to this nefarious attempt to subvert and undermine the people’s mandate given to PH, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had submitted his resignation as Prime Minister and PPBM (Bersatu) Chairman.

DAP commends Tun’s principled position of refusing to work with an UMNO. … This is the first time that a Malaysian Prime Minister is prepared to resign on principle to uphold integrity and combat corruption.

This consistency and principled stand in rejecting a corrupt UMNO should be supported by all Malaysians….. DAP intends to propose to the PH Presidential Council ,,,,,to nominate Tun Dr Mahathir to continue as Prime Minister of Malaysia to fulfil and deliver the promises in the PH General Election Manifesto.

(From the Star) …in Ipoh, a political observer, who declined to be named said there would be enough assemblymen in Perak to form a new state government if the new coalition led by Dr Mahathir took shape.

He said the key players were Bersatu’s two assemblymen, namely Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (Chenderiang) and Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin (Sungai Manik).

Should both leave Pakatan, it will leave them with 29 seats. “Umno has 25 seats while PAS has three. Add Faizal and Zainol Fadzi, it will be enough for a simple majority of 30 seats to form the state government, ” he said.

He said that former Umno member-turned-independent Tualang Sekah assemblyman Datuk Nolee Ashikin Mohd Radzi, could also make the switch, further strengthening the new coalition.

He said of the four PKR assemblymen, one was aligned with Azmin. “If the PKR assemblyman and Nolee Ashikin join the new coalition, it will then leave the state Pakatan with 27 state representatives, ” he said, adding that the new coalition would then have 32 seats.

Lucky for Luly ..it was 36.5C

The next time you visit Maybank  you won’t be allowed to enter till you have your temperature taken.

If your temperature happens to be 38C and above you won’t be permitted to enter into the bank.

This proactive directive came from headquarters effective last Friday and all Maybank branches have to comply.

Egg balances on its end

This is the real thing ..BROOMS stayed up with no support...NASA says its due to "gravitational pull" or "planetary alignment" on Equinox day.

In recent years the long-running myth about the equinox being a day possessed of a special property which allows eggs to be balanced on their ends has grown to encompass brooms as well. 

And the broom-balancing myth has likewise grown to encompass days other than the equinox on which — according to NASA, supposedly — “gravitational pull” and/or a “planetary alignment” creates just the right conditions for brooms to stand on their ends unsupported.

Try it. It might not work tomorrow.

No Face Masks Available - Should We Keep Some... Just In Case

I enquired from 2 pharmacies this afternoon and was told ..
"No face masks available. Don't know when the next stock will arrive"

Why isn't it available over the counter?

Perhaps the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs should investigate.

Anti Litter Units In Old Town

At last we have an anti-litter unit operating in Old Town. Saw this on Dr Ko Chung Sen's Fb page. Shows 'would-be litter-bugs taking back their trash after they were warned by , i presume,'MBI'

From Dr Ko's Fb page .."Anti-litter units operating in some parts of Ipoh city to catch irresponsible people who dump garbage everywhere. 

All those have taken back the trash after being warned. In future the authorities will not give an opportunity and will issue a summons to anyone who commits the offense."

A Visit From Charlie The Cicada

Meet ‘Charlie’ the Cicada. It dropped by during my reunion dinner and stayed the night only leaving he next afternoon.

It perched itself onto my kitchen fan and ‘modeled’ for me the next morning before literally screeching off.

Folklore says that it is ’good luck’ if it drops by because ‘it only reports back good stories’. Don’t ask me to whom although I presume it is to ‘ the good fairy Godmother’.

I presume too it’s got good hearing and it’s got these huge ‘BUG’ eyes to watch and report.

Folklore aside it belongs to the Insect family. According to Wikipedia’s description it’s in the “….Order: Hemiptera , Class: Insecta , Scientific name: Cicadoidea, Kingdom: Animalia, Phylum: Arthropoda, Rank: Superfamily

Its in the SUPERFAMILY class….Description: The cicadas are a superfamily, the Cicadoidea, of insects in the order Hemiptera. They are in the suborder Auchenorrhyncha, along with smaller jumping bugs such as leafhoppers and froghoppers.

PCCWA Holds CNY Dinner 2020

LouSang ...PCCWA get ready for the Toss of Prosperity 2020

Perak Chinese Community Welfare Association held their Chinese New Year 2020 dinner recently and it was a most pleasant affair.

The dinner kicked off with the tossing of LouSang prosperity salad dish after which members sat down to a delicious New Years meal.

According to its chairman Pam Kam Sing the association was formed 40 years ago. Some of its members include the Tambun pomelo growers group.

There were speeches in between but the most memorable parts of the dinner was the lucky draw which saw members prompts for their numbers to be called.

Lucky draw was the main event .... and everyone enjoyed themselves....
