The Joy That Easter Brings ....

The Newly Baptized ....
Captured the faces of joy at Easter from the Newly Baptized, the facilitator and sponsors during Holy Saturday .......

...with their facilitator and sponsors
(l) Mary Hairedia Rozie and (r) Shirley Ann and Sharon Ann Michael
Joy comes to those that make the right choices like Mary Hairedia Rozie, a Bidayuh from Sarawak …”I chose to be baptized because I feel the presence of God in my heart and a calmness whenever I come to church …

.or for twins Shirley Ann and Sharon Ann Michael .. "the entire family are catholic except us two twins because we missed the class .. now that we have grown we chose to be baptized and feel blessed having done so”.

...and on Easter Sunday a grand entrance

“Easter is time of joy and the entrance procession for Easter Sunday was made grand with bunga manga, butterfly’s and ribbons waving and flowing ….it being a festival to bring in the flow of the spirit" .....Fr Patrick Massang

and the Families ..posing with the cross “The light of Christ …He has risen and no longer on the cross ..he is luminous” Fr Patrick Massang

Happy Easter

Three Months On – Waiting To Restore Kledang Hill

Bukit Kledang 'scarred' as seen from Taman Buntong Jaya
It has been close to three months since news that 10Ha of Bukit Kledang had been cleared for development be it forest plantation project, monoculture plantation or housing development.

Several NGO groups notably Sahabat Alam Malaysia and KUASA have voiced their sentiment against the projects.

The Rakyat too such as HHH or Hash House Harriers have already made it clear that they are against development and NGO’s have even volunteered to replant the cleared ground.

Now photographers Goh Ah Poon and Dr TM Chan too have voiced their concerns though their collection of photos depicting Bukit Kledang's destruction.

Goh lives in the vicinity of Bukit Kledang and used to take beautiful sunrise and sunset photos from the hill but volunteered his expertise.

Pollution after a heavy downpour at the Buntong River
Close proximity of the 'cleared land' to housing estate
Since the land clearance Goh has ‘documented’ the destruction of the hill and pollution to the Buntong River after a heavy downpour.

We the rakyat are waiting and watching when the State government will revert and rehabilitate Bukit Kledang.

Palm Sunday

OMPH Church ....on Palm Sunday
‘Hosanna … Peace in Heaven and Glory in the Highest’....Today is Palm Sunday when we reenact that scene where Christ enters Jerusalem amidst waving palms before leading to .......

At the Parish Hall ....

Blessing of Palms
...followed by procession to OMPH Church

......Holy Week .....  when we remember Christ’s Suffering, Death and Resurrection consisting of three days of the Holy Triduum of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter when Christ is resurrected.

This year the church was given a makeover and turned into a palm grove appropriately decorated with palms placed in bamboo as we celebrate the promise of new tomorrow.
