Pasir Pinji… VOTES For New Wet Market

Pasir Pinji wet market
The residents of Pasir Pinji have voted for a new wet market. A timely choice seeing that it is time for an upgrade but to have to resort to a vote is a very…. well final and democratically processed.

Voting over the 2 day weekend  ...
...MP, assemblyman and councillor monitor the counting ....
I recall the debate on Gunong Rapat wet market years back. So much of debate and in the end it remained the same.

Good job by the assemblyman Howard Lee.

Result; Jumlah undi dikeluarkan 1715, Setuju 1615 Bantah 99,  Rosak 1

Corpus Christi 2019 At OMPH Church

The Latin term Corpus Christi means “body of Christ,” in reference to the bread administered by priests during holy communion.

It is day on which a special masses is held in honour of the Eucharist. The priest holds high a canopy-covered Eucharist, and children throw flowers in the priest’s path where he walks.

The procession went around the Church grounds before returning to the church building and ended with Benediction.

Are Ipoh’s Limestone Hills And Caves Doomed

Attended this talk by Cheah Kum Seng about the Limestone Hills and Caves of the Kinta Valley, a book that was published 10 years ago.

Good attendance
Generally what Cheah showed was the beauty of our hills earlier compared to the scarred landscape currently.

Does the current government have the backbone to find a solution. Has the previous administration already doomed the Hills to become a plateau.

My Hari Raya Celebration On The 3rd Day Of Syawal

Ghazali 'Rock' (back row, 4th from right) with his guests on his front porch
I had my share of the years Hari Raya celebration on the 3rd day of  Syawal when out of the blue an old friend 'Rock' called and asked to come over to his home.

(l-r) Siti, Ghazali, Cheyenne and Mohican. (inset) an earlier family photo.
You know that it’s been a long time since meeting up because i remember Rock as being single and carefree. Now he has a wife and two teenage children … then you get that feeling that age has caught up.

My friend ‘Rock’ is better known to most as Ghazali, his wife is Siti and the lovely children are Cheyenne and Mohican.

His home is part of a kampong. While the kampong is still the same but Rock's home had been upgraded into a modern homestead and takes on a totally modern image.

A wonderful night with friends and lots of  fellowship.

Selamat Hari Raya mate.
