Iftar At The Istana

There was one year where I was asked to represent the office at a Buka Puasa event at the Istana Iskandariah at Kuala Kangsar.

It was held on 19 July 2014. I had never been to one before and so I went with my camera and it was fruitful.

Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Zara Salim were present together with the then Menteri Besar Zambri Abdul Kadir.

We started with ‘Iftar’ also known as "berbuka puasa" with the usual dates and the various foodstuffs such as Bubur Lambuk and washed that down with tea or coffee.

Could help notice the way the meals was set up. All of the palace cutlery had the Perak logo embossed on them including the serviettes. So to were their chairs, cross stitch table cloths and the use of doile table mats was nice to see and seldom seen now.

Then it was time for the Mahgrib prayers during which time I joined the other guys in the yard all the time taking night photos of the Istana.

When Tuanku returned it was time for dinner.

Afterwards it was time for the Terawih prayers. As they adjourned their Highnesses met with and greeted  some of their guests.

Where they returned it was to have their special supper or Moreh as it is called consisting of a snack and hot tea in a glass before we went home.

Another Been There, Done That.
