Ipoh’s Local Councillor’s


Twenty two local councilors for Ipoh took their oath of office this morning at the Ipoh City Council in the presence of Housing and Local Government chairman Paul Yong Choo Kiong and Mayor Zamri Man.  



Paul Yong said that every appointed council member must know and must understand their responsibilities which include cleanliness and ensuring the beauty of the city among their other duties.


The councillor's will be assigned to their zones later this week.

Korean.. Paul Hwang's ... Work, Discovery ...Kinta Holiday,


This is Paul Hwang, a Korean on a holiday and a bit of volunteer work in Ipoh. 



Paul works with youth and had been in town this week but had not seen much of the countryside. 


So yours truly took off one morning to show him the sights of Ipoh and abit …… just a short quick tour of the surrounding towns. We started with breakfast before heading to Tambun


onward to buying a Pomelo....


....still in Tambun to get a glimpse of the Polo Club and the beautiful hills 



toward to Gunong Rapat and the big cave temple, Kek Lok Si 


the castle in the middle of nowhere, Kellies Castle ......


Now ...


and what it looked like then .....

next.... the last standing dredge in the country T.T.5 in Batu Gajah before....


heading for lunch at Tanjung Tualang....


...but first a cool fruit of coconut water ..... 




then savour the delight of Tanjung TokAlang, their monster size prawns


afterwards .....a palong tin mining operation ...... 



then to visit the state park, Kinta Nature Park ..... a bird sanctuary 

.
.... and to cap it all a cooling Chendol to end the tour at Lawan Kuda, Gopeng.

2nd July 2018 - Another Historical Date – New Ministers And Deputy Ministers

The Ministers
Thirteen more ministers and 23 deputy ministers took their oath of office today before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, at Istana Negara.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Balairong Seri witnessed by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.


Deputy Ministers
The 13 new ministers bring to 26 the total number of Cabinet members – the first batch of 13 was sworn-in on May 21.

Darell Leiking, MP for Penampang, Sabah
Darell Leiking, used the occasion to showcase the Siga, the traditional and distinctive headgear of the KadazanDusun.

Leiking is the MP for Penampang, Sabah a hub of KadazanDusun culture. He is also the deputy president of Parti Warisan Sabah.

His headgear is the fourth after songkok, Gobind's turban and M.Kula’s Tamil thallapa. Any more?

Another refreshing change are these beautiful faces of MP's for Seputeh, Kulai, Segambut and Bakri all eloquent in BM and qualified too.

Though the likes of Yeo Bee Yin seems well qualified to be holding the post she has been appointed to, Minister of  Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment
