Three Months On – Waiting To Restore Kledang Hill

Bukit Kledang 'scarred' as seen from Taman Buntong Jaya
It has been close to three months since news that 10Ha of Bukit Kledang had been cleared for development be it forest plantation project, monoculture plantation or housing development.

Several NGO groups notably Sahabat Alam Malaysia and KUASA have voiced their sentiment against the projects.

The Rakyat too such as HHH or Hash House Harriers have already made it clear that they are against development and NGO’s have even volunteered to replant the cleared ground.

Now photographers Goh Ah Poon and Dr TM Chan too have voiced their concerns though their collection of photos depicting Bukit Kledang's destruction.

Goh lives in the vicinity of Bukit Kledang and used to take beautiful sunrise and sunset photos from the hill but volunteered his expertise.

Since the land clearance Goh has ‘documented’ the destruction of the hill and pollution to the Buntong River after a heavy downpour.

We the rakyat are waiting and watching when the State government will revert and rehabilitate Bukit Kledang.
