Eighteen
Ipoh City Councilors (MBI) not including
Mayor Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim took their oath of appointment today 16
August 2019.
The duration
of their appointment is effective from 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2021.
The Chairman
of Housing, Local Government, Public Transport, Non-Muslim Affairs and New
Village Committee Paul Yong Choo Kiong was present.
The Local
Authority (PBT) can appoint up to 25 members for the councilor post, however
today only eighteen councilors took office.
They consisted of four each from Bersatu
(PPBM) and Amanah while ten were from DAP. Party PKR and the NGO post are still
pending.
Paul Yong said
he hoped that Councilors would do their job well and bring positive changes to
the local authorities in all aspects as well as meet the needs of taxpayers and
the local community.
