Rainbow Colours For Jalan Sultan Idris Shah (Brewster Road)

Jalan Sultan Idris Shah (Brewster Road) has received a Rainbow paint job courtesy of MBI just for the coming SUKMA. This was confirmed by a spokesman from MBI.

The colours of the rainbow
Only establishments that have agreed will get their building painted over. A total of forty three units belonging to thirty nine establishments have agreed to the paint job.

The choice of colour has received mixed reactions. Some said that it was too bright and didn’t reflect the character of Brewster Road while others said it would brighten up the street.

Nevertheless i do like that the Chua Cheng Bok building has been painted and its art deco design have been given some prominence.

Chua Cheng Bok Building, a beautiful pre-war Art Deco office block
...a balcony with 'princely cartouche right in the centre'
..'an encircled cross with wings on a central bound shaft'..an Art Deco logo?
When portrayed with the adjacent MCA building it shows a contrast of architectural styles and an early appreciation by the early residents of Ipoh.

A good idea but maybe a tone less strong like maybe a pastel shade hmmm.
