Roadrunners Early Morning Run

Datuk Nolee did the flag-off for the 10km run, runners waiting to start their watches...
A morning run early in the morning is like a breath of fresh air for the mind. The Kelab Roadrunners Ipoh who held their annual run today did just that.

..and they are off
...happiness is an early morning run.... yay!
Flag-off  No 2.... the 5km run
Held at the parking lot of Lost World of Tambun it was divided into two runs the 10km and 5km both being well patronized. A total of well over 800 participants had registered .


First ...the run around Sunway.....

Onto to Tambun Road .... some are returning...
Into Banjaran Hotsprings
Onto to the backroad towards The Haven

The route of the competition snaked through Sunway then over to the entrance to Banjaran Hotsprings and onto the Haven before returning to Lost World.

...and relaxing. Back on Tambun Road that's a 10km run
The route was short, sweet and very refreshing at this hour of the morning and not to mention the route was scenic.

Winner of the Womens Open Daphne Lim who clocked 44 mins
Winner of the Men's Open, Matathir who finished 10km in 36 minutes
The mens open category was won by Mahathir Hyder Ali from Ipoh in 36 minutes and ladies open by Daphne Lim Cai Qin in 44 minutes. Daphne traveled all the way from Singapore to participate.

This was KRI’s 29th Annual Run. When they began their runs twenty nine years ago they attracted 200 plus runners. It reached 1200 but generally stabilized at 800 participants said Alice Chim its vice President.

"The 30th Anniversary run will be at least 30km long" said KRI President Chong Him Shoong with vice Presidents Alice Chim and PK Yeap.
KRI President, Chong Him Shoong promised that the 30th annual would be at least 30kms in distance.
