Hakka Traditional Song Competition.

Perak Kaying Association will play host to the 10^th National Hakka and Traditional Singing Competition.

To be held at Sun Li How Fook Restaurant 2^nd of June 2017 it is anticipated to have an attendance of 700 for the event with guests from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore in attendance.

Special guests for the night are Datuk Mah Hang Soon and Datuk Lee Yow Ching.

A spokesman for the event, Chairwoman Lai Mei Yoong said the aim is to promote the beauty of Hakka songs.

“We want to promote the trend of Hakka songs hence we are organizing the competition,

“I hope to take this opportunity to promote Hakka traditional songs to the community and hope it will become a trend and spread throughout the community”

Similarly Datuk Dr Lee Yow Ching, the President of Federation of Kaying Chu Association said that the spirit of Hakka songs would bring joy and togetherness among the communities.

Kaying Association in Malaysia consists of 27 districts including Sabah and Sarawak. Each district is allowed to send up to 3 representatives to compete,
