Clean Perak Campaign – A State-Wide Challenge.

The biggest cleanliness campaign got on the way yesterday March 31 when Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Diaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir launched the “Clean Perak Campaign”.

He was joined by state secretary Datuk Puhat Mat Nayan, Mayor Zamry Man and Datuk Rusnah Kassim.

Zambry in his address said the launch was to create a culture of cleanliness .

“We must make cleanliness a culture and to educate the people to make city’s cleaner and become the cleanest city in the country”

“This Clean Perak Campaign is throughout the state and we will organize regular activities.

“The dengue problem is also caused by poor hygiene. Cleanliness affects everyone”. The campaign lasts until December.

Over 10,000 supporters turned for the launch consisting of the state exco, councilors, government agencies school students and NGO’s from the private sector.

Held at the Ipoh Tourist Information Centre at Ipoh Padang it was launched simultaneously with the other district such as Taiping, Manjung and Kampar at 8.45 am yesterday.

Earlier Zambry joined MBI workers in a gotong-royong walkabout through the Heritage Trail.

Starting at the Railway station at 7.30am he covered the Birch Memorial and Concubine Lane before backtracking to Ipoh Padang to launch the Clean Perak Campaign.
