SAMA SAyangi MAlaysia ke 61 - Volunteers Needed

Perak state government has got some elaborate plans lined up for this year’s 61st National Day celebrations.

They have come up with an elaborate 6 week program of activities, starting from the 12th August, which will cater for all Ipohites to be involved and they need approximately 500 volunteers for their various programs.



According to Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman YB Tan Kar Hing this year’s theme for the National Day celebration is Friendly Malaysia or Sama Sama Sayangi Malaysia.

“It is hoped that through this program we can promote this new era for Malaysia with a new state government and a new Federal Government”.

The program kicks off this Sunday with a talk "Ipoh: Future City from the Past"
 Starting this weekend 12th August it will kick off with Sama Sama Forum, a series of talks which ranges from ' Ipoh: Future City from the Past (12 Aug)’ to ‘Tourist Trails  (19 Aug) and ‘Development of Local Films (2 Sept).

Besides talks they’ve also got planned Sama Sama TONTON (movie screening in collaboration with FINAS), Sama Sama MAIN (playing traditional games) Sama Sama SKETCH (a marathon sketch at attractive locations), SamaSama ZUMBA and SamaSana DAKI (a hike up Kledang Hill)and much more.


 These activities will take place at various venues in Old Town’s Birch Tower and 22 Hale Street, Kinta Riverwalk and Silver Youth House at Taman DrSeenivasagam, Waller Court and more.

State Youth and Sports chairman Howard Lee who was also present said the programs by the new state government are ambitious and he hoped the youth would use it as a platform to be involved and participate.

A ‘2nd Meet Up’ asking for volunteers will be held at Nam Heong Ipoh Soho this Saturday 11th Aug 2018 at 3pm at Block B, 2-15, Ipoh Soho, Jalan Sultan Iskandar Shah,.
