Perak’s new
Menteri Besar is Ahmad Faizal Azumu, 48 who is also Pakatan Harapan Chairman.
He took his oath of office in front of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at 6pm at Istana Iskandariah on Saturday 12 May 2018.
Earlier in
the day Ahmad Faizal met Sultan Nazrin Muizzudinn Shah at Istana Kinta to
inform him that two Barisan reps had already joined Pakatan Harapan thus giving
the coalition the numbers to form the
state government.
There are 59
state seats in the Perak assembly. In the GE14 Pakatan won 29 seats, Barisan
took 27 seat while PAS took three.
