On an Off-Day take a walk, sweat it out and maybe look out for some BIRDS. At the 2nd Tee box..beautiful morning with clear blue sky .. the Golden Showers were beginning to bloom..some tree leaves were changing color ....waiting for the Flame of the Forest .......
Discovered this stall one early morning.... it was before 7.30am. They sold Wan Ton Mee. I decided to try it out. It is located at Trade Parade closer toward Public Bank.
Texture of the noodles was nice and crunchy, sauce was just right and meaning not too sweet.
They served fried wan ton as well as the normal kind
They also had the flat noodle which my precious likes . Price is lower than other places but the taste is 'i think' has the original flavour of ' wan ton mee. And it opens early in the morning.
Something
about family friendly weddings that make it so beautiful to attend. The event
of mention was Juliet Papu marrying Louis Chang at our OMPH Church. Just
knowing the family and participating in the event of matrimony is always a
pleasure. No words are necessary.
There are so many good memories of old Ipoh. The buildings are gone but the memory lives on till one day when we are gone too. At least there are pictures to hold on to the memory.
Woke up early before 6am on the last day of 2022and craved a steaming hot curry noodle. Thought of Keng Nam kedai kopi. Wound my car window down and had a cold and crispy drive to town. Felt like the whole of Ipoh was sleepily awaking with the roads unlike the lunch hour crowds.
Arrived by 6.20am. The curry noodle stall was ready and the husband of the chee cheong fun stall was still arrangeing the 'hor fun'. There was three tables and one table of Indian family of three. Another stall was still readying her stall and arranging her 'liew' ...gaily saying 'happy new year' ..in English mind you. It was nice seeing the stall owners free as i usually see them very busy.
Over the radio was the CNY song 'Choy San Tong2" .. even though the new year hadn't ended yet. Such is my country...haaah the contrast is so nice.

50th anniversary of OMPH Church with a Gold topped crib at the bottom of altar
I witnessed a fabulous Christmas mass this year. It
was the finale to OMPH Church’s 50th anniversary. Parish priest Fr Patrick Massang said it ‘had to reflect the anniversary and was decorated
with that touch of Gold for the Jubilee effect'.
The crib at the outdoor Jubilee stage had ‘gold
bamboo’ while inside the church in front of the altar the crib was decorated with gold painted holly and berries.
As for the Christmas tree it was decked out with gold
balls and yellow light to give it that Golden theme. For the first time we had a Christmas wreath of gold, green holly and poinsettia red.

The Christmas sketch of Joseph and Mary bringing in
the Child Jesus to be placed at the crib at the altar. This was followed by the Three
Kings with gold crowns lighting the Christmas wreath just added to the
nostalgic twist this Christmas mass.

Fr Massang explained the significance of gold 'represents
resilience and excellent achievements over the past 50 years acknowledging the
foundation built by the elders of of OMPH.
The 3 Kings with their crown of gold signifying their wisdom represent
the long journey taken by every parishioner for 50 years. They light the
candles to signify a brighter year ahead for all coming out of the darkness of
the pandemic.
Joseph and Mary light the gold candle to signify that Christ our king will journey with us for the next 50 years'.
Nice mass all throughout ....and nostalgic
It was the tail end of the pandemic which would
explain for the large turnout on Christmas night mass.
Seeing the church overflow was a sight to behold as it
was three years since being a witness such a beautiful sight. It looked so nostalgic
that I had to document it.
