Day 7: The Young Peoples Choir Sang 'Family of Faith'

OMPH Church Young Peoples Choir
The night on the 7th Day of the Novena belonged to the Young Peoples Choir who sang the theme song of this year’s feast day ‘Family of Faith”


From the start till the end they sang with total confidence and with loud voices that carried their young and harmonious voices for all to enjoy.



 “I was totally blown away” said Rev Fr Michael Raymond later when describing their singing.


There was only the preached mass in English and Tamil today. The topic this evening was “The Vocation of Family”.

Day 6: Family Spirituality


Day 6 witnessed Rev Fr Mark Michael addressing the topic of “Family Spirituality”


Is your Family Spirituality attending Mass once a week or is it Praying together as a family.

In line with the topic 8 teenagers asked to share in their own words their spiritual relationship with other members or a member of their family.




Day 6 saw the start of the preached mass for the Tamil speaking community in the Church hall. Rev Fr John Paul led the congregation.



Tonight was also the last night of the Bahasa Malaysia preached mass by Msgr M. Michael..



The Marian Exhibition featured Our Lady of Walsingham of England.

Day 5: Preached Novena 2017



Fr Eugene Lee touched on the topic “Hill and Valleys in Marriage” and he was assisted with testimony on the trials of marriage from a member of the Parish Mr Christopher Wong.



Today was the last day of the Chinese preached mass by Rev Fr Matthew Bun Chang Yong. Fr Matthew is with the Church of Christ the King, Kulai, Johore.

The featured Marian Exhibition shrines was Our Lady of Fatima, Portugal and Our Lady of Czestochowa, Poland.




Yesterday began the work on the Feast day shine for the weekend.

Day 4. Two New Preachers and Bahasa Malaysia Preached Novena.


Day 4 of the Preached Novena yesterday saw the OMPH Church parking lot full. Besides the English and Chinese groups we had the first night of preached mass in Bahasa Malaysia.

Day 4 also saw the presence of the St. Michael’s Church Choir singing their powerful rendition of hymns throughout the mass.

We saw the presence of two new preachers Msgr M. Michael and Rev Fr Mark Michael.


Fr Mark Michael, outspoken but lighthearted.
Fr. Mark Michael’s topic “Daily Love in Family Life” was presented in an outspoken but lighthearted manner which had the attention of the congregation throughout the homily.



 After the homily Fr. Eugene Lee asked had the couples present to look at their spouse, hold each other’s hand and renew their marriage vows after which were given special blessings.




It was moment of joy for many of the couples tonight.

At St. Francis Xavier room the preached mass in Bahasa Malaysia  led by Msg. M. Michael was in session.


Over at the Church Hall Rev Fr. Matthew Bun Chang Yong conducted the mass in Chinese.

Day 3. Preached Mass in Chinese, Youth Choir Makes A Debut


On day 3 of the 9 day Novena the topic this evening was “The Shoots of Marriage” preached by Rev Fr Michael Raymond.

Today was the start of the preached masses in the Chinese in the Church Hall. The Preacher for the Chinese mass was Rev Fr Matthew Bun Chang Yong.

The Youth Choir made their debut today and earned the praise of Parish Priest Fr Joe Stephen for rendering the theme song ‘Family of Faith’ so wonderfully.
