To Ampang ...a suburb of Ipoh now. It was a very clear evening and the warm sun made the green hills stand out ..i posted this photo on my Fb page earlier. As i drove toward Tambun i imagined hearing a voice call ........
...and so i ended up here ... nice isn't it .....
..... or was it the Kingfisher calling and patiently waiting and posing .. not moving. The Iskandar Polo Club is at the back. This was as far as my phone would zoom .

This part of Ampang used to be dotted with tin mines, hence mining pools abound.
ReplyDeleteI believe Leong Sin Nam had a pig farm until the he Nipah Virus outbreak forced it to close the farm.
There is now a road leading to Rapat Setia in Gunong Rapat.
Among Village and the surrounding areas have been the mainstay of pomelo orchards stretching to Tambun.
Recently in 2019, I visited some nurseries along the Ampang/Tambun Road.
Many of the rubber trees that were along the road had since given way to other activities.
**Unknown** writes above that "[this] part of Ampang used to be dotted with tin mines, hence mining pools abound."
ReplyDeleteThis is true. In fact, the Ipoh Swimming Club began by using an old mining pool near Ampang. The current facility came much later.
**Unknown** also suggests that "Leong Sin Nam had a pig farm" in the area. This is true as well.
