Descendants Of Dr Wu Lien-Teh Celebrate Qing Meng, Take Heritage Walk of Dr Wu’s Landmarks in Penang

The descendants of Dr Wu Lien-Teh and General Lam To'Kai Heritage Organisation congregated on Penang for the Qing Ming celebrations on 6^th April 2026. The descendants were from Singapore, Australia, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.  They were joined by the YLCO team led by Ignatius Chew and Abbot Lee Heng Sung from the Loong Thow Ngam Taoist temple in Ipoh. 

The first stop was the Mt.Erskine, Kwangtung & Tengchow Cemetery at the foot of Wu-Lim Cemetery Mound where the remains of Lady Gua, Lam Look Ing and the parents of Dr Wu parents, Ng Khee Hok and Lam Choy Fan are buried.

These 3 graves are located next to each other, located at the top corner of the cemetery. As we approached there are 4 pillars with guardian ‘foo dogs’  keeping watch on the graves below. The grave of Lady Gua (the wife of General Lam) on the right, the elaborately decorated grave of Lam Look Ing (in the centre) and Dr Wu’s parents on the left. The parents grave had damaged and a police report lodged in 2025.
