‘Tales of Collecting’ is an exhibition by The Perak Women for Women Society (PWW), featuring much loved items collected by See Foon Chan Koppen over the years.

Her work at
a time was managing the Holiday Inns which spanned the Asia Pacific. When she
travelled she would wander through alleyways alone and going off with the ‘so-called’
guide in a car, tuk-tuk or rickshaw and would pick up everything and anything
of antiquity. Then it was still safe.
The result is what you see here today a very eclectic mix of objects. Items include ceramics, ethnic clothes and silver jewellery from the Silk Road in particular Tibet, India, China and Pakistan.

There are 250 items on display with prices ranging from RM30 to RM8000.
Today is the
fourth stage of my life, I have stopped acquiring while giving brings much more
joy. I have treasured my acquisitions, enjoyed them and am now ready to let go
of them, for others to treasure and enjoy.

All proceeds from the exhibition will go to PWW for their work in empowerment of the less privileged women and children in the community.
I chose PWW
to donate the proceeds of this sale to because their mission of empowering
women and children speak to my heart. There are so many single mothers and B40
women who need our help. The plight of some of these women bring tears to my
eyes.
PWW is located
at 15, Jalan Market, Ipoh and operates daily from 10am till 3pm.
