This Nissen hut has survived after at least 70 plus years, a legacy of the British Military presence.
There are a few at the ex Colombo Camp at Ashby Road in Ipoh and maybe more at the ex Ghurka garrison at Tambun Road.
Very cheap to build with minimal materials and lasting too. The heat from the tropical sun must be unbearable during the day. Nightime should be okay as the zinc quickly cools down compared to brickwork which stores the heat and releases it at night.
