Apex was
founded in Australia in 1937 by 3 young men whose objective was to help their
community during the recession.
Twelve years
later in 1969, Apex Club was registered in Ipoh by ex-OCPD of Petaling Jaya
Anthony Petrus. During its heydays it had 30 active members who undertook
various community projects.
Over the
years complacency set in due in part to a dwindling membership. Guests, friends and
Apexians was reminded of how active Apex was in Ipoh during the 70s and 80s by
the Task Force and what Apex club Ipoh had in store for its community service projects.
Apex Ipoh
Club President Sivananthen announced the projects to be carried out. These
1) Apex Ipoh will work together with Apex Petaling Jaya to manage the “Single Parents Project” in Sg Siput.
2) Apex Ipoh will work and support an Orang Asli school in Perak where children from that school will adopt and undergo training.
3) Apex Ipoh will organise a Blood Donation and the Apex Public Awareness Campaign in the very near future.
He appealed to
the community of Ipoh to come forward and join Apex Ipoh in its activities of
helping the less fortunate community in Perak.
