Alice Ng with son Ivan Tong with their sketches of Ipoh Railway Station |
When I
checked at 10am that morning there were 141 registered participant. Each participant received an A4 sketch book to get started.
The participants were required to sketch 5 locations |
All they had
to do was sketch 5 locations along the heritage trail and win a prize for their effort. The five locations were Ipoh Railway Station, Masjid Negeri, Chung Thye Phin Building /Arlene House, Han Chin
Pet Soo and Jalan Sultan Iskandar.
SamaSama
Sketch was just of several events organized by state tourism chairman in
collaboration with Urban Sketchers Ipoh as part of the Merdeka and Malaysia Day
celebrations.
For most of
the participants like Jack Chong it was a pleasure to take part in this event
and possibly promote Ipoh.

For Alice Ng
who was sketching with her son Ivan Tong it was natural. “With National Day around
the corner it is natural for participants to want to come out to indulge in the
mood and celebrate” said Ng who is from Hong Kong.
Young and old came fully prepared |
How true. Natural,
relaxed and serene that was the scene that I encountered with all the groups
when sketching.
natural and relaxed was the event for all who came ..... |
