In 2014 there was a call to create an exhibition space
for aspiring Ipoh artists instead of having to venture to Kuala Lumpur to
Penang. In 2024 his effort culminated in the first Perak Contemporary Arts
Festival called The Garden. Held at 22 Hale Street it showcased the artworks of
65 artists from throughout Malaysia.
CHANGE is Kareem’s 2nd effort. He hopes that artistic
talent in Ipoh will become more than a pastime but an industry that can support
the livelihood of artists and help nurture them to thrive.
At Level 4 at YLCO Gallery of Families, The Living
Archive it’s - Michael Lip’s, A Blessed Journey – Extended-from his solo
exhibition a month earlier plus some
extra additions. This time he shares the space with 3 young female artists Klarissa
Lee, Satsuki Nakano and Chong Wei En.
