diving queen Pandalela Rinong was today conferred the Panglima Setia Bintang
Sarawak (PSBS) which also carries the title ‘Datuk’ in conjunction with the
85th birthday of the Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud.

ReplyDeleteThis title carries prestige and weight in Malaysia. Datukship is one of the most common titles conferred. I also heard the datukship value defers from state to state.
Rumour has it that some people work towards a datukship unlike the sportswoman passion for her talent which earns her the award.
