The holy day of Pentecost is celebrated on the seventh Sunday after Easter and commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles |
Pentecost is celebrated on seventh Sunday after Easter. This year for the first time OMPH Church celebrated the day with much fanfare.
It started with the blowing of the Jerusalem horn the shosha where the group of servers circled round the Paschal candle.
Above them, behind
the altar glowed a hallowed ring of fire.
The Paschal candle was subsequently extinguished and the shosha was played marking the start of Pentecost.
