Two Weeks To SUKMA

The countdown to SUKMA has started. Sukan Malaysia or SUKMA will be held in Perak from 14 till 22 September.

This morning YB Howard Lee,  Chairman of Youth and Sports Exco led the SUKMA Torch Run to the finishing line at Stadium Indera Mulia.

He was joined by other excos including Prof. Aziz Bari, Hasnul Zukarnain, Leong Cheok Keng, Dr. Koh Chung Sen, Sandrea Ng and Jenny Choy as well as heads of state government of Perak.

The Program Larian Obor will be held in all 12 districts throughout the state till the 10 September.

Yesterday a ceremony was held to surrender the SUKMA Flag to the participating athletes of the Perak contingent.

Perak Chief Minister, Ahmad Faisal announced an appreciation initiative to athletes who won a medal of RM5,000 for the gold medal, RM3,000 silver medal and RM1,000 bronze medal.

Meantime Howard Lee emphasized to the athletes and officials involved four key principles of Focus, Discipline, Courage & Solidarity to be upheld.
