ORIGINAL SITE OF THE ISTANA RAJA BENDAHARA ON JALAN BENDAHARA, IPOH

 Jalan Bendahara in Ipoh still holds a thousand and one treasures and secrets.

Among them is the original site of the Raja Bendahara's Palace.

This palace was the residence of Raja Di-Hilir Perak until 1972.

The new location of Raja Di-Hilir palace is at Jalan Raja Di-Hilir Ipoh.

In the Perak constitution, Raja Di-Hilir is in the 3rd highest position after the Sultan of Perak and Raja Muda Perak.

Not much is known about this castle but looking at the records of old maps can be said along this road until Mosque and Masjid Panglima Kinta Paloh has many remains of the old house with a building design Malay.

Most of these houses are no longer inhabited and are just waiting for time to collapse.

If this continues, this building in Ipoh may continue to be synonymous with colonial architecture and others.

Timah Whiskey buatan Malaysia

I met Tristam Charles Sawyer Speedy aka Captain Speedy over a peg of Timah the all new Malaysian whiskey. 

Captain Speedy was the English Superintendent of the Penang police force in 1871 who was assigned the task of suppressing the triad Ghee Hin and Hai San Chinamen in the tin-mining district of  Taiping. 

'With Indian troops he quelled the unrest and created peace & order. 

For bringing harmony & giving Perak this Heritage beverage I salute Cap'n Speedy.

Spot The DOG Wins The Case – Cruelty To Animals

Spot.. a street Dog enjoying her new home

Spot the dog won its case against the assailant who beat it 4 years ago. The assailant was fined Rm8,000 while Spot got a new home. 

Four years ago Spot was a street dog without a home nor a regular meal every day. One evening an onlooker saw the assailant beating a dog with a big stick and promptly screamed to him to stop.

The dog was bleeding and was dazed from the blows. The onlooker gave the dog shelter that night and called veterinarian Dr Ranjit Kaur over to check its condition.

 The next morning when Dr Ranjit sent Noahs Ark animal welfare group to pick up the dog it was still in a daze. 

Victor Oates from Noah's Ark found Spot still dazed the next morning .....

 ... and had to be carried to the van

On the 22 December 2020 the assailant who was charged under the Animal Welfare Act under Cruelty to Animals by the Perak Department Of Veterinary Services was found guilty and was fined Rm8,000. 

An official from the department said the maximum fine for this offence was Rm50,000. The largest fine so far recorded was Rm10,000. 

When told to Dr Ranjit of the news she first asked if it was being appealed but when told it had been paid exclaimed she was very happy at the news. 

As for Spot the dog she is contented at being a house dog, getting regular meals, a regular bath and a carpet on cold and wet nights.
