Perak Royalty At SUKMA

State Youth and Sport Chairman Howard Lee greeted Tuanku Zara Salim at UPSI Tanjong Malim
It’s certainly interesting to note the Perak Royalty gracing the SUKMA events.

Yesterday the Raja DiHilir Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain presented medals to the Golf finalist held at the Royal Perak Gold Club.

(Above) Raja Iskandar presented medals to the teams Melaka, Selangor and Sarawak at the Golf finals.
Similarly Raja Muda Tuanku Jaafar was at the Perak Stadium viewing the athletics event.

As for Tuanku Zara it was the handball competition held at UPSI Tanjong Malim . Perak won the match when they beat Selangor 25 to 19.

Women's Rugby At SUKMA XIX

The new Rugby grandstand.
What a lovely Saturday morning 15 September at the new Rugby stadium at Perak Stadium sports complex that even the Raja Muda of Kedah turned up.

The sun was hot and bright with lots of action opportunities because of the women’s rugby.

Above the Perak women's rugby team
I came just when Perak was playing against Selangor. The women’s game is not as ‘vicious’ as the men’s but it had all the ingredients  of the game…..the kick, the scrum, run faster than the other team and dodge the tackles.

Getting hold of the opponent

the scrum
... once you get the ball run like the wind  ...
...dodge all the tackles ..
....... until you place it on the goal line
It was all there and that made up a wonderful Hari Malaysia weekend.

Next up was Sarawak and ...(note the trimming on their jersey and shorts....nice traditional touch)
Terengganu
