Day 3 of The Other Festival 2017…

Hafizi (r) and POD (l)
Day 3 started with 'Buskers After Dusk' with Hafizi Chan and POD rendering the saxophone over at HOS at the Kinta Riverwalk. Buskers perform from 6 – 7pm.

It was nice evening compared to the opening day and gave me the opportunity take a shot showing the beauty of the place though a lot more can be done for this place.

Next it was off to KooKee and The Temporary Theatre to watch Farah Rani’s one-woman show.

Challenging, this almost hour-long performance but it was quite an insight.

Next was the Urban Theatre and the Lepak Game.

Timeless Treasures …. at TOF2017

Check out these timeless treasures once upon a time when checking out The Other Festival 2017.

That was how cigarettes and CocaCola and a variety of other products was marketed back in the ‘good ole days’.

The exhibition is part of The Other Festival 2017 which is being held at Sepaloh Art Gallery.

Visitors from Shanghai, China Debs Wang (r) and Hong Yin Wong (l) very graciously posed with the exhibits after attending Kata Kota Kita a literature sharing session another TOF2017 at the same venue.

Sept Morn ...and Salam Aidiladha

It was before 8am ... a nice and refreshing morning to take photos like this, the old Post Office.

They came by all means. A lot of the early arrivals looked like migrants.

It was about 8am when the call to prayer was played.

In the mosque Muslim cleanse themselves before proceeding the to the huge prayer hall. One was adjoining and the other i was told was upstairs.

The adjoining prayer hall. Nice isn't it.

Selamat Hari Raya Haji to my fellow Muslim readers.

September Morn...

September Morn began early with a wet morn … but I still went for that morning walk at the Grounds....it drizzled when at the grounds but a quick round ....

then to breakfast …. this time for something healthy  .. at the Birch Clock Tower…the colonial buildings here never cease to amaze ..... It was early well before 8.00 am for Roti Goyang.

Roti Goyang here is served with two half boiled eggs on two toast.. with the yolk ‘goyang-ing on the toast …when they bring it to you.

Check it out …. At stall no 10..Ah Wan…after you spread it onto the toast …add a little ‘pat yao’ and a dash of pepper and chow down,,.. simple yet a super nutritous  breakfast.

That’s when I realized Muslims were coming in .. to pray at the mosque, it is the State Mosque in front of me and it is Hari Raya Haji after all  ..  and since I am early might as well see what in store…

.... so follow me.
