Ignatius Chew
went for a talk on WWII War Survivors organised by Professor Gary Lit at his
Peace Gallery and met 3 lovely Penang Nyonya’s.
 |
| Ignatius Chew met them at Professor Garys Peace Gallery when he bought a Nyonya book |
One of them Dato Lillian Tong
was selling a book “Once Upon A Kamcheng” a book about Penang Straits Chinese
Baba Nyonya memoirs, biographies, and collected stories. Ignatius' current interest was everything Nyonya and purchased a copy and invited the ladies to visit the
museum. He extended the invitation to Chung Lai Yin the granddaughter of
Kapitan China Chung Keng Quee and her group from Taiping.
Dato Lillian
Tong was presented the Peace Ambassador Award by the Ambassador of Poland in
2024, is the President of Persatuan Peranakan Baba Nyonya Pulau Pinang and she and her team members are dancers where she is the founder of the troupe Bunga & Bintang and
has performed at cultural exchanges.

The presence by the lovely nyonya’s had livened up the gallery and
gave it a shot of colour.
