Avocado gelato ice cream with nuts served in a croissant |
It was an
after lunch a dessert …something different ..a homemade ice cream called avocado
gelato. I’d heard of this small place that was cozy .. so i went and tried it after .. all it was a lazy Sunday afternoon.
The serving
was a double scoop ice cream with a nutty topping and served in a croissant (reminisce of
the old school days having a scoop of ice cream in a bun) well this was much
more flavorful and did its job as a dessert.
The dessert
was part of the discovery but it was the décor of this place…refreshing, quirky
and well different.

26a Jalan Keliling, Canning Garden ..1 table outside and 4 more inside ..love the frangipani painted flowers |

Eclectic ...a wooden door for a banner |
The name was
‘little Allegra” and was an annex of a bungalow. Frangipani trees in the garden
led up to the entrance. Inside was small but cozy with just four tables, a service counter and an array of ready-made
pastries on a shelf.

Ready pastries |
It was the décor
that caught my eye. Eclectic should be the appropriate description and that
reminded me of the first Indulgence Café, years ago, along Cecil Rae Lane across Canning
Garden Market.

Quirky ... colorful sewing threads for decoration ... unmistakably ..... |
Yep I inquired
and got confirmation, the owner was one and the same..it was Julie.
